Why I created Sewsy

Sewsy was created to make managing sewing patterns easier on a phone. I wanted to build something designed specifically for mobile, while also making it simpler to print PDF patterns and choose exactly which layers to include, something I could never find an easy way to do from my phone.

Creating Sewsy was also a personal challenge. I set out to learn Flutter and build a mobile app from the ground up. It was a long process, but an incredibly rewarding one.

As a mum of two young boys, I often sew in small pockets of time. I designed Sewsy around that reality, so you can pause a project and return to it days later without losing your place. The app remembers your patterns, selected layers, position in the file, and other settings, making it easy to pick up right where you left off.
